We can truly see and experience God's goodness in our life. It's been a whirlwind of blessings right after another! We met in 2011, married in 2012, and welcomed our first child in 2013. Another blessing arrived in 2015 when our baby girl was born.
When we first married, we lived in a tiny wood frame house that we absolutely loved. It wasn't the best structurally speaking and there was a lot of work to be done, but we were together building a home for our future family. We knew it wouldn't be our forever home, but we took pride in what the Lord gave us for that time in our life. We rebuilt floors, painted, replaced doors and windows, and so much more to make our place feel like home.
In 2014, a large piece of land belonging to Michelle's grandparents became available, and we jumped at the opportunity. It was always Michelle's dream to build a house, and the time was finally right. We basically started from scratch clearing the lot, removing trees and overgrown brush. We spent many hours prepping the space for our new home. Before the foundation could even be laid, there was much work to be done. Our home was completed in the summer of 2015 - just one week before our second baby was born!
We now raise cows and goats on our property. We love having animals to take care of - some are treated as pets while others are sold to further fund the operations of the farm. Jacob spends his summers cutting and baling hay. It began as a system to cut his own hay for our animals, but eventually turned into a business when others were in need of hay for their animals.
In 2021, we decided to take on a whole new venture by starting a Pumpkin Patch. We knew we wanted to grow pumpkins, mainly for fun, but then Jacob asked the question, "Why don't we grow a lot of pumpkins and invite people to come hang out, pet the animals and pick a pumpkin?" So we were at it again - building, planting, and planning a space for families to come and spend a day on the farm. You can read more about the Pumpking Patch story here.
There's no telling where God will lead us next. Thank you for joining us on our journey!
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
